Ice / Poison
This is my personal favourite unused typing in Pokemon so far, and while it may seem unconventional if you analyze its various strengths you'll see that it could very possibly be a game changing type in terms of offence.
Let's take a look at its weaknesses and resistances.
Weaknesses:
Fire, Rock, Steel, Psychic, Ground
Resistances:
Fairy, Ice, Bug, Poison, Grass
Types that its STAB moves nail super effectively:
Dragon, Flying, Grass, Ground, Fairy
While it unfortunately carries common weaknesses to Fire, Rock, and Ground attacks (as well as the less common Steel and Psychic type attacks), it has several huge boons going for it. It's one of the few Ice types to have a neutrality to the Fighting type (which for Mono-Ice teams is fantastic); and it resists Bug and Fairy type attacks which are both very common in most tiers (especially with the prevalence of Dark type Pokemon around every corner).
One niche that I can already see this Pokemon undergoing is (depending on stats of course) being a hard counter to Mega Altaria. It could very will be a possible answer to both the Dragons and Faeries running around OU if given proper support.
In terms of what its movepool could contain; all we need to do is look at various Ice / Poison types for guidance. Ice won't do much for it bar give possible priority, access to Freeze-Dry and a few niche moves; where the movepool strengths will come in will be with its Poison typing. Poison types are famous for having fantastic movepools most of the time (with randomly included Electric / Fire attacks for no reason), and as a result it's more than likely that having access to the famous BoltBeam combination will be assured. Possible inclusions of Grass / Fire / Steel movepool additions could help as well. Being able to use Black Sludge as a recovery method is also fantastic and prevents mindless Switcheroo'ing or Trick usage from your opponent.
Overall, this typing's success will entirely hinge on the stat spread of the Pokemon using it; as it will more than likely have a great movepool.
