Gigalith
Type: Rock
Abilities: Sturdy / Sand Force
Stats:
HP: 85
Attack: 135
Defense: 130
Special Attack: 60
Special Defense: 80
Speed: 25
Description: Gigalith is an inherently powerful Pokemon with an insanely strong based 135 Attack. It also has solid 85 / 130 / 80 defenses and is a perfect user of Assault Vest. While to many people Gigalith's solo Rock typing is considered weaker than its more common Rock / Ground counterpart; I would actually argue that in many cases for what Gigalith specifically needs to worry about it's better. Pure Rock doesn't suffer from a quadruple weakness to Grass and Water like Rock / Ground does which can make all the difference in the long run. If you play to Gigalith's strengths, you'll punch holes in your opponents team.
Set #1: Assault Vest
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Atk, 4 SpD
Nature: Adamant (+ Atk, - SpA)
Item: Assault Vest
Ability: Sturdy
Moves:
Stone Edge / Rock Slide
Earthquake
Iron Head
Superpower
Set Description: An all out attacking set that capitalizes on Gigalith's ability to perfectly run Assault Vest thanks to its very adaptable bulk and naturally high attacking stats. With 252 EVs and an Adamant nature, STAB Stone Edge coming off of 405 Attack is going to tear anything that it doesn't resist into absolute ribbons and will be your main attack most of the time. Alternative you could run Rock Slide for better accuracy and more PP allowing for longer battles. Earthquake gives the famous Edgequake combo with great coverage. Iron Head is for nailing pesky faeries and ice types that might try to switch in to have a field day. Superpower is for taking care of the Dark types that litter the tier.
Set #2: Choice Band
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Atk, 4 Def
Nature: Adamant (+ Atk, - SpA)
Item: Choice Band
Ability: Sturdy
Moves:
Stone Edge / Rock Slide
Earthquake
Iron Head
Superpower
Set Description: Exact same moves and ideas as the Assault Vest set, except this set takes away the additional bulk and ability to switch moves in exchange for maximizing Gigalith's raw power. STAB Stone Edge's coming off 607 Attack is no joke and in many cases can be even more deadly than the Assault Vest set.
Other Options: Curse is an interesting option that could very well have you sweeping enemy teams, but you should take out all special attackers on your opponent's team before attempting this. Stealth Rock can be thrown in on a set with Leftovers or with a Berry. Rock Blast is a niche move that has its merits over other choices (such as being able to break substitutes) and can be thrown in on most of these sets if the need arises.
